Teenagers are so hilarious to me.
- I’ve honestly been looking forward to the day that my kids hit adolescence, because I knew it was going to be a funny ride.
When I think back on myself as a teenager, I can’t help but laugh a lot. I was a real little shit. To be fair, I did really well in school and worked a nearly full-time job every single day without my mom having to encourage me in any way. Outside of that, however, I was a snarky little butthole and I did whatever I wanted to. I was always out with my friends drinking and recreationally stealing from Walmart to pass the time in a crappy little town. Despite all of this, I did well for myself and became a successful adult. That’s why, I’m actually looking forward to the trouble that my teenagers get into. I can’t wait to relate to them as small adults and laugh about the shenanigans that they find. Frankly, I’m not even mad that I accidentally found my son’s secret stash the other day when I was cleaning out the air ducts. I have been noticing a weird smell in the air every time the heating system kicked into gear, and the situation wasn’t getting any better with the air conditioner now being used. I decided it was time to change the air filter, vacuum out the air vents, and try my best to clean the air ducts without professional tools. I was going through the house, performing my routine cleaning tasks to the HVAC system when my vacuum accidentally sucked up something large from the air duct in my son’s room. I found a small cardboard box, packed to the brim with all sorts of illicit materials just behind his air vent. It turns out, he’s been getting into tons of teenage trouble already, and our HVAC air ducts were the perfect location for hiding his stash. Now I know where those weird smells were coming from.
